About us

In the history of semiconductors, electronic devices with innovative functions are often the result of the discovery and development of new materials. In our laboratory, we are pursuing our research without any preconceptions while valuing a playful spirit to pioneer such “new materials”. The basis of our research is to be exposed to new materials with curiosity, without being bound by the trends and theories of conventional research.

For example, we focus on metastable phase-non-equilibrium compounds and “difficult-to-crystallize compounds,” which are difficult to transform into crystalline states, and study their new physical properties.

Metastable phase-non-equilibrium compounds are difficult to synthesize, but we are synthesizing new materials by devising growth conditions using handmade crystal growth equipment. In addition, there are many unexplored materials, so there are always new discoveries and surprises.

We have also obtained practical examples that lead to the creation of new industries by applying new materials. And we aim to develop academic fields using these materials.
